CAREERS
The Rogers Group is a great place to work; and the proof is in our people. In an industry where turnover rates often exceed 50 percent a year, our senior staff has been with the agency an average of 10 years.
We provide competitive salaries, excellent benefits and no office politics. We are always looking for people with strong skills and an interest in growing with the company.
Why do people stay? They may join our team because of our reputation – but they stay because of challenging work, great supervision and our commitment to ongoing educational and professional development. We cultivate the kind of informal camaraderie and information exchange that add real value to ongoing staff training and development. We believe in community involvement and volunteerism, and fueling your passion. The Rogers Group is an environment where employees have the best of both worlds, consumer marketing to social marketing. It’s that diversity that keeps our staff stimulated, interested, excited and feeling that they make a difference every day.

Company Culture
While we expect great work from our team members, The Rogers Group also believes that the workplace needs to have an element of fun. We know you want to enjoy your work and your workplace, and you want to make friends with your colleagues. We have a work environment where you will be able to laugh during work hours and enjoy a good rapport, not only with your co-workers, but also with the partners and vice presidents.
Our Unique Décor: Cowboy Chic to Creative Crib
When you enter the door at The Rogers Group, you will see our décor is very different from a traditional PR agency. It’s reflective of our founder and CEO Ron Roger’s life-long passion of the Old West and cowboys. From the artwork to the vintage saddles scattered throughout the office to the living cactus plants, our office never fails to receive amused accolades from clients and visitors alike.
But even if you aren’t into “cowboy chic,” you won’t want to miss playing and working in our creative lounge. Loosen up with a game of Wii tennis (or take out your aggression with boxing), plug in with a laptop and a latte, or just sit and think for a while.
The Buddy System
When you come to work for The Rogers Group, we don’t just throw you in the deep end and hope you swim to shore. Every new team member at The Rogers Group is assigned a “buddy” who acts as an on-call resource for you, making introductions, answering questions and helping smooth your way. Your buddy will concentrate on helping you shorten the learning curve – answering questions, reinforcing company-related information and building cross-team relationships.
Your buddy will tell you the things we expect of our team members. They are:
- Speak up, because we’re interested – Good ideas can come from anyone
- Ask for help – Everyone needs it from time to time
- Think first – Don’t just do what you’ve been asked
- Learn from mistakes – It’s part of growing
- Excel – Go the extra mile, be curious
- Change – Status quo is not acceptable
Bagels & Chatter
Every Friday in our large conference room we have “Bagels & Chatter.” This is a time when everyone – from partners to executive assistants – can catch up on what’s happening across the agency within different teams and in co-worker’s lives. TRG supplies the bagels – toasted if you want it – the cream cheese and coffee. You supply the chatter.
Corporate Casual
We believe in maintaining a working environment that is comfortable for our team members while at the same time projecting a professional image for our clients. We have a business casual dress code and the mantra “use your common sense” on other aspects of fashion and style.
TRG Academy
We are committed to helping our employees learn and grow in their careers. That’s why we created the TRG Academy – a comprehensive professional development program built on The Rogers Group’s core principles – quality, candor, integrity, independence and clarity.
We recognize that our industry is a fast-changing one. The focus on digital media continues to accelerate and campaigns are becoming increasingly diversified, consisting not only of media relations but also stakeholder outreach, grassroots tactics, social networking and internal communications, to name a few.
When employees tap into the TRG Academy, they are inspired, challenged and equipped to grow their careers, enhance their work and develop their interests.
Cornerstones of our program include:
- Diverse Curriculum – In addition to traditional public relations training in areas of media relations, writing and presentation skills, TRG Academy provides training in areas of selling and persuasion, client relations, business development and communication strategy, to name a few. TRG Academy leverages the unique experience of internal executives and outside experts to ensure a well-rounded program.
- Meet the Media – Building upon strategic and creative approaches, coupled with exceptional writing and persuasion skills, personal relationships are still key. That’s why we are committed to connecting our employees with influential local and national journalists through “Meet the Media” workshops. From political editors and bloggers to anchors and consumer writers, “Meet the Media” events lend insight into strategic pitching strategies, and help facilitate media relationships.
- Roundtable Lunches – Since we are a mid-size, independent agency, The Rogers Group staff works alongside the partners and vice presidents and builds meaningful, professional relationships with others in the agency. To help facilitate this cross-team interaction, TRG Academy hosts numerous informal “Roundtable Lunches” where staff comes together over lunch to explore the “hot issues of the day” or learn more about the PR business.
Benefits
The Rogers Group offers its employees a comprehensive benefits package. As health insurance is always top of mind for working people, we offer excellent health benefits including medical, dental and life insurance coverage. We also offer a Section 125 Medical Flex Plan.
To help you plan for your long-term financial future, we offer a 401(k) Plan after one year of employment. We will make discretionary matches to employees’ accounts based on the agency’s financial performance.
We have nine paid holidays each year, as well as sick and personal days.
The agency closes between Christmas and New Year’s Day. This is paid time off for all of TRG’s full-time staff members; our only requirement being that team members are on call should client needs arise.
